The prevalence of obesity in children aged 5-12 years in Indonesia has increased from 2013 to 2018, from 8.0% to 9.2%. In school children's snacks, harmful chemicals are still detected. Prevention of nutrition and health problems can be done by changing diet and providing education related to these problems. This study aims to determine the effect of board game education on the knowledge and attitude of choosing healthy and safe snacks in elementary school children. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental method (pre-post test with control group). The location determination was carried out by purposive method and the sample was selected by simple random sampling method. The study was conducted on 44 4th grade children at SDN 4 Lawang Kidul and SDN 2 Lawang. Data were collected using knowledge and attitude questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analysis using paired samples t-test, Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that there was a difference in the average knowledge in the experimental group (p=0.000) and the control group (p=0.002) and attitudes in the experimental group (p=0.000) and the control group (p=0.000). The Mann Whitney test showed that there were significant differences in knowledge (p=0.000) and attitudes (p=0.000) between the experimental group and the control group before and after education. From the results of the study it can be concluded that nutrition education with board game media can provide an increase in knowledge and attitudes towards choosing healthy and safe snacks in elementary school children. After being given education, students are advised to change their behavior related to the selection of snacks.
