Snack food consumption behavior is the activity of buying and consuming snack food both inside and outside school. Factors that can influence snack food consumption are knowledge regarding the choice of snack foods. Students' knowledge of choosing good snacks is very influential in choosing safe snacks, so as to avoid dangerous types of food.This study aims to determine the relationship of knowledge about food safety to the behavior of snack food consumption in adolescents of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang City. This study used quantitative research methods with a cross-sectional study design, with a research sample of 77 students taken using the Stratified proportional random sampling technique. The results of this study found as many as 20.8% of students with good knowledge, 39.0% of students with sufficient knowledge, 40.3% of students with less knowledge. 57.1% of students with good eating behavior and 42.9% of students with poor eating behavior. The results of this study show that there is a relationship between food safety knowledge and snack food consumption behavior (p-value < 0.05). Advice for students to be able to reduce buying street food and be able to bring food from home.
