This study aims to determine the effect of nut grass tubers extract (Cyperus rotundus L.) and cogon grass rhizome extract (Imperata cylindrica L. Raeuschel) on the growth of rice (Oryza sativa L.) plants. The research was conducted in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, located in North Indralaya , Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The study was conducted from September to November 2023. The research method used is a Randomized Block Design (RBD), where there are five treatments with three replications, resulting in a total of 15 experimental units. These treatments consisted of Control (P0), 100% nut grass tuber extract (P1), 50% nut grass tuber extract (P2), 100% cogon grass rhizome extract (P3), and 50% cogon grass rhizome extract (P4). The variables observed in this study included rice plant height (cm), number of leaves, root length (cm), dry weight of the rice plant (grams), and the type of weeds that grew. The research results indicate that the extracts of nut grass tuber and cogon grass rhizome have no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, root length, dry weight of the canopy, and dry weight of the roots. However, the extract of cogon grass rhizome at a concentration of 50% can increase the dry weight of the canopy and the dry weight of the rice plant roots.
