Introduction: Mental health disorders are a problem that needs to be recognized early. Mental health disorders are caused by an individual's inability to manage the stress experienced. Mental health disorders have an impact on a person's behavior and condition in endangering themselves, others, and disrupting individual interactions with others. One of the maladaptive behaviors that occur in people with mental health disorders is the risk of violent behavior. Aim: This writing aims to provide an overview of the application of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in mental nursing care for patients with the risk of violent behavior at Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province, Palembang. Method: The writing of this scientific paper uses a case study approach method with a qualitative descriptive method. Implementation of progressive muscle relaxation therapy for 3 days and measurements were taken on the third day of intervention using an observation sheet containing signs and symptoms of risk of violent behavior. Result: There is a decrease in signs and symptoms of the risk of violent behavior with the results of subject I experiencing a decrease of 1 (7.14%) of 9 signs of symptoms, subject II decreased by 2 (14.2%) of 6 signs of symptoms, and subject III decreased by 2 (14.2%) of 8 signs of symptoms.
