Fatigue is often suffered by patients with Chronic Kidney Discase (CKD) who undergo hemodialysis and can reduce quality of life. One of the nurses' self-directed measures that can be applied to overcome fatigue problems is the combination of foot massage therapy and deep breathing relaxation, which has been proven to provide a relaxation effect, increase comfort, and reduce fatigue levels. Objective: To provide nursing care to patients with CKD who experience nursing fatigue problems through the application of foot massage therapy and deep breathing relaxation. Methods: Using a case study approach in three CKD patients having fatigue and underwent hemodialysis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central General Hospital of Palembang. The fatigue levels were measured using the Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS) before and after the intervention. The therapy was given for three consecutive days, once daily with a duration of 30 minutes per session. Results: There was a decrease in fatigue scores in all patients, with the average fatigue score before the intervention being in the category of moderate fatigue (score 30) and after the intervention it decreased to mild fatigue (score 18). The combination of foot massage therapy and breath relaxation worked by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system which played a role in the body's relaxation mechanism, improving blood circulation, improving tissue oxygenation, and helping to reduce the accumulation of metabolites causing the fatigue. Conclusions: Foot massage therapy and deep breathing relaxation are effective in reducing the fatigue levels in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis, and are recommended as nonpharmacological interventions in clinical nursing practice to improve patient comfort and quality of life.
