PENERAPAN TERAPI RELAKSASI AUTOGENIK PADA PASIEN KARSINOMA OVARIUM STADIUM II PASCA PEMBEDAHAN DENGAN NYERI AKUT
Background: Surgery is a medical treatment thatuses invasive techniques by making incisions in the part of the body to betreated. Postoperative procedures can cause pain, with thefrequency, intensity, and duration of postoperative pain varying in eachpatient. Pain is caused by mechanical irritation of the wound, which stimulates chemical pain mediators in the body. A nonpharmacological method that can be applied to helpreduce postoperative pain is autogenic relaxation therapy. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness ofautogenic relaxation in reducing pain intensity in patients withstage II ovarian carcinoma after surgery. Method: This study used a case study design by providing evidence-based nursing interventionsin the form of autogenic relaxation performed twice a day (morning and evening) for 3days with each exercise lastingbetween 10-15 minutes per session. The therapy was administered 4 hours after the administration of analgesic medication, starting24 hours after surgery, to three patients with stage II ovarian carcinomawho experienced acute pain after surgery, which was measured using theNumeric Rating Scale (NRS) 0-10. Results:The results of the study based on the application of autogenic relaxation showed thatthis intervention was effective in reducing pain intensity, with a decrease inthe pain scale. Conclusion: This techniquecan be used as a non-pharmacological intervention as an alternativeintervention that can be given to post-operative patients to reducepain intensity.
