Introduction: Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is one of the main nutritional problems in pregnant women that has an impact on increasing the risk of pregnancy complications, Low Birth Weight (LBW) and stunting. Based on the data of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office in 2024, the prevalence of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women reached 8.2%. In the working area of the Sematang Borang Public Health Center of Palembang, 26,67% of pregnant women with an upper arm circumference (LILA) of < 23.5 cm were still found. One of the efforts to prevent and handle the Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is through increasing the knowledge of pregnant women with the health education using leaflet media. Objective: This study aimed to implement and evaluate health education using the leaflets in improving the pregnant women's knowledge related to the Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). Methods: This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach on three pregnant women clients (Mrs. A, Mrs. I, and Mrs. E) who suffered or were at risk of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). The intervention was carried out for three consecutive days through the health education using the leaflets with a therapeutic and participatory communication approach. The evaluation was carried out based on the client's response to the increase of knowledge about Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). Results: After the intervention, all the clients showed increased knowledge of balanced nutrition during the pregnancy and Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED), as well as improvements in diet. A study of 15 supporting journals showed that the consistent use of the leaflet media can increase the pregnant women's knowledge of meeting nutritional needs during the pregnancy. Discussion: Health education using the leaflets has been proven to increase the pregnant women's knowledge of the importance of balanced nutrition and help in the prevention and handling of Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED).
