PENGARUH EDUKASI PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN DENGAN MEDIA VIDEO DAN BOOKLET TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN KELUARGA DENGAN ANAK USIA SEKOLAH MENGENAI JAJANAN SEHAT
Introduction: Uncontrolled behavior of consuming random snacks is often a probem for school children. Although most parents have a good role in providing knowledge of healthy snacks, it has not fully affected the children’s attitudes and habits of consuming the snacks. Therefore, the health education using the video media and booklets can play an important role and be one of the efforts of forming healthy living habits from an early age, especially in the selection of snacks. This study used a qualitative descriptive methoed with a case study approach on the three families having school-age children lacking knowledge of selecting the healthy snacks. Objective: To provide an overview of the implementation of clinical family nursing care by providing implementation in the form of health education about healthy snacks using booklets and videos for families with school-age children who have a knowledge deficit. The interventions were carried out through the provision of health education using the video media and booklets. Methods: This scientific paper uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach on three families with school-age children who lack knowledge in choosing healthy snacks. The intervention was carried out through health education using videos and booklets. Results: After having been given the intervention, there was an increase in knowledge in the three families, with a final score of 80%-90% and belonging to the good category. Discussion: Nutrition education raises awareness and reduces the risk of diseases associated with unhealthy eating habits. Synergy between families and schools is necessary to maintain sustainable behavioral change and create a healthier generation of school children. Conclusion: Based on these results, the health education using the video media and booklets has proven to be effective in increasing the school children’s knowledge of the selection of healthy snacks and can be used as an educational strategy applicable in the community.
