KAJIAN PENGARUH GEOMETRI TERHADAP FRAGMENTASI DAN BIAYA PELEDAKAN BATU KAPUR DI PT SEMEN PADANG
Blasting activities at PT Semen Padang are carried out to fragment hard rock formations using a blast geometry that typically involves a burden of 3–4 meters, spacing of 3–5 meters, and blast hole depths of up to 11 meters. The explosive used is DABEX 73, a mixture of 70% ANFO and 30% emulsion, produced on-site and mixed using a Mobile Manufacturing Truck (MMT), ensuring both operational efficiency and work safety. In practice, the applied blast geometry includes a burden of 4.2 meters, spacing of 4.7 meters, a stemming length of 3.7 meters, and a blast hole depth of 10.6 meters. The explosive column length is 6.9 meters with 117.3 kilograms of explosives used per hole. However, based on analysis using the R.L. Ash method, a more optimal blast geometry is recommended: 4 meters for both burden and stemming, 6 meters for spacing, 12 meters for blast hole depth, and a column length of 9 meters, requiring 136,8 kilograms of explosives per hole. The actual blasting cost amounted to IDR 4.546.639.414,00, while the theoretical cost using the R.L. Ash method was lower, at IDR 4.425.858.240,00. From 23 blasting events using the current geometry, a total of 771,453.12 tons of rock was fragmented across 1,419 blast holes, which still falls short of the company’s production target of 827,277 tons. In contrast, with the optimized geometry, only 1183 blast holes would be required to achieve a rock yield of approximately 827.626 tons.
