ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA IBU PRIMIGRAVIDA DALAM PENCEGAHAN DAN PENANGANAN ANEMIA MELALUI PROMOSI KESEHATAN DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS SAKO
Background: Anaemia in pregnancy is still a significant public health problem in Indonesia with a prevalence of 48.9% (Riskesdas, 2018). This condition can lead to complications such as premature delivery, low birth weight, and increased morbidity and mortality in mothers and babies. Primigravida mothers are a vulnerable group due to a lack of knowledge and experience about the importance of iron intake. Aim: This case study aimed to find out the benefits of nursing care through the health promotion using poster media to increase the knowledge of primigravida mothers in the prevention of anaemia in the working area of the Sako Public Health Center. Method: The case study used a qualitative research method on the primigravida mothers with Hb < levels of 11 g/dL. Interventions were carried out through the health promotion in 3 patients based on poster media; and the data were collected through interviews, observations, and pre-post intervention evaluations. Results: There was a significant improvement in knowledge, compliance to iron tablet consumption, and awareness of nutritious diets after the intervention. The poster medium proved to be useful as an interesting and easy-to-understand educational tool. Conclusion: The health promotion using poster media is useful for increasing the knowledge of primigravida mothers in the prevention of anaemia and has the potential to be applied in primary health care facilities.
