KONSTRUKSI SOSIAL MASYARAKAT TERHADAP PERILAKU MEMBUANG SAMPAH DI BANTARAN SUNGAI KELEKAR DESA TANJUNG LUBUK KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
This study examines the social construction of the community on the behaviour of throwing garbage on the river bank and aims to understand the stages of the social construction of the community regarding the behaviour of throwing garbage on the banks of the Kelekar river, Tanjung Lubuk Village, Ogan Ilir Regency. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a case study research strategy. Data collection was carried out through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The theory used in this study is the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann. The results of the study show that the people of Tanjung Lubuk Village construct the behaviour of throwing garbage on the banks of the Kelekar River, namely as a tradition, imitating behavior, due to the limitations of garbage cans, normalized behaviour, weak social response, absence of regulations, forms of self-habituation, rational actions and perpetuated behaviors. These findings show that the social construction of the behaviour of littering on the banks of riverbanks is formed through the stages of externalization, objectification, and internalization, so that this behaviour is no longer considered an aberration, but rather part of collectively accepted practice of daily life.
