Breast self-examination (BSE) is a simple and self-administered method for detecting breast abnormalities. Early detection is crucial for identifying tumors or lumps in the breast, thereby reducing the incidence of breast cancer. However, knowledge and awareness among adolescent girls are still relatively low. Efforts to increase adolescent girls' knowledge about breast condition can be conducted through BSE health education through videos and demonstrations. This study aims to determine the effect of videos and demonstration methods on adolescent girls' knowledge regarding BSE. This is a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest and posttest design. This study sample consisted of 49 respondents using a total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a knowledge questionnaire. The results showed that before giving health education, 55.1% of respondents had poor knowledge, 38.8% had sufficient knowledge, and 6.1% had good knowledge. After being given health education as many as 61.2% had good knowledge and 38.8% had sufficient knowledge. The statistical analysis test result using marginal homogeneity obtained a p-value of 0.00. It means there was a significant difference in knowledge between before and after health education using video and demonstration methods (VIDE) regarding breast self-examination (BSE). Based on this study, education using VIDE can improve knowledge about BSE in adolescent girls as an effort early to detection for identifying tumors or lumps that can develop into breast cancer if not addressed early.
