OPTIMASI DOSIS STREPTOZOTOCIN PADA TIKUS WISTAR (Rattus norvegicus) UNTUK INDUKSI DIABETES MELLITUS
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by elevated blood glucose levels. Diabetes mellitus has become one of the major health issues with a steadily increasing prevalence in Indonesia. Due to its significant impact, diabetes mellitus has become a primary focus in the medical field. Over the years, animal experiments have been conducted to study diabetes mellitus and evaluate anti-diabetic agents. This study employed an in vivo experimental design involving 28 male Wistar rats divided into four treatment groups with different streptozotocin doses: 35, 50, 65, and 80 mg/kgBW. In this study, the diabetes mellitus animal model was induced using streptozotocin. Parameters were measured on days 0, 1, 2, 3, 7, and 14. The study revealed that streptozotocin administration resulted in weight loss and an increase in fasting and random blood glucose, particularly at doses of 50 mg/kgBW, 65 mg/kgBW, and 80 mg/kgBW. Statistical analysis demonstrated significant differences among groups with varying STZ doses in terms of changes in body weight and fasting and random blood glucose, with p
