ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA PASIEN CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE (CKD) DAN IMPLIKASI TERAPI SEFT UNTUK MENGATASI GANGGUAN POLA TIDUR DI RSUP MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Introduction: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a gradual, progressive, and permanent decline in kidney function, characterized by a disturbance of the balance of metabolism, fluids, and electrolytes. This condition causes a buildup of metabolic residues (uremia) in the blood, which then causes various clinical symptoms in the patient. Sleep pattern disorders are one of the nursing problems that are often encountered in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Non-pharmacological therapy that can be done to overcome sleep pattern disorders is by providing Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy. Objective: To describe the implementation of nursing care in CKD patients and the provision of SEFT therapy in overcoming sleep pattern disorders. Methods: The method used was a case study of 3 CKD patients in the inpatient ward of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central General Hospital of Palembang. Results: There were decreases in complaints of difficulty sleeping, frequent wakefulness, sleep dissatisfaction, sleep patterns changed, insufficient rest in all the three patients. The nursing diagnosis showed problems with sleep pattern disorders, ineffective peripheral perfusion, fatigue, acute pain, nausea, and ineffective breathing patterns. Discussion: The main interventions provided sleep support, circulation care, energy management, pain management, nausea management, and respiratory monitoring, as well as non-pharmacological techniques in the form of SEFT therapy which was given for 10-20 minutes daily for 3 days. SEFT therapy combined physical stimulation and a spiritual approach. The tapping process (light tapping) at the body's meridian points could stimulate the parasympathetic system being able to lower the sympathetic nervous system and stimulate the hormones melatonin, serotonin, and oxytocin providing a sense of calm and comfort. Conclusion: The SEFT therapy was effective in overcoming the sleep pattern disorders suffered by CKD patients, so it is hoped that in the future more nurses will use SEFT therapy as a non-pharmacological intervention to overcome the problem of sleep pattern disorders of the patients.
