Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, highly itchy inflammatory skin disease that places a significant burden on healthcare resources and patient quality of life. Publication of AD is still very limited in the province of South Sumatra, especially the city of Palembang. This study aims to determine the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of AD patients at the Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics Polyclinic of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang for the period January 2019-August 2024. This type of research is descriptive observational with a cross-sectional approach. The subjects of the study were all new AD patients recorded in the medical records at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital for the period January 2019-August 2024 who met the inclusion criteria. Sampling used the total sampling technique and was analyzed using SPSS version 26. Of the 91 samples, the age distribution was dominated by adolescent and adult phases (63.7%), female gender (61.5%), and the main complaint was itching (50.5%). The majority had no personal history of atopy (69.2%) and (76.9%) had no history of atopy in their families. The location of the infantile phase lesions was mostly found on the trunk (62,5%), the child phase on the cruris (64%) and the adolescent and adult phase on the pedis (55,1%). The most commonly used topical and systemic therapies were moisturizers (71,4%) and antihistamines (80,2%).
