Introduction: Bed rest is a condition in which a person is unable to move actively or freely due to a condition that can interfere with their activities. Bed rest can be at risk of pressure or decubitus in patients. Giving olive oil to the patients having bedrest conditions can help moisturize the skin, widen the skin, and prevent the decubitus or pressure sores. This study aimed to apply the nursing care to bed-rest patients to intervene to reduce the risk of pressure ulcers by administering the olive oil according to the based evidence. Methods: This study was descriptive with a case study approach of the three bed-rest patients with the olive oil intervention for three days on the back and bone protrusion (sacrum). Results: All the three patients had a diagnosis of pressure wound risk, and after the administration of olive oil intervention once a day for three days, there was a reduced risk of the pressure wound. Discussion: Olive oil contains up to 80% oleic acid which protects skin elasticity from damage. It can hydrate the skin within reasonable limits and is able to prevent the occurrence of decubitus. Its use of olive oil supported by other interventions such as a change in position can be used as the primary prevention of decubitus. The olive oil can be applied easily and is a good source of protection against free radicals causing the oxidation-cells and other elements damaging the skin. Conclusions: An intervention by administering the olive oil to bed-rest patients once a day for three days can reduce the risk of the pressure wounds of the patients.
