PEMANFAATAN METODE AERASI MENGGUNAKAN Pistia stratiotes DALAM UPAYA MENURUNKAN KADAR Fe AIR BERSIH SUMUR GALI DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS TANJUNG BARU
The clean water source commonly used in Indonesia is groundwater from dug wells. The use of well water needs to pay attention to physical and chemical parameters so that it is suitable for use. The high Fe content in well water has a negative impact on its use, such as health problems, damage to tools or metal furniture. The aim of the study was to analyze the decrease in Fe levels through the use of aeration methods using apu-apu plants (Pistia stratiotes) for 12 hours and 24 hours using 4 processing methods. Research Methods are experimental with Pre-Test and Post Test Design. The research used 3 community wells in the Tanjung Baru health center area affected by Fe with a total of 72 bottles of water testing samples. Results showed method I for 24 hours was effective in decreasing the mean Fe levels sequentially. In well I, the average decrease in Fe was 4.55 mg/L (96%), well II decreased on average by 4.44 mg/L (91.7%), and well III decreased on average by 4.70 mg/L (92.1%). It was concluded that the use of aeration methods and the use of Apu-apu plants (Pistia stratiotes) can reduce the Fe content of dug well water. The manufacturing process is also easy to apply to the community because it utilizes existing natural resources and environmentally friendly water treatment.
