REDUKSI POLUTAN AIR LIMBAH BATUBARA MENGGUNAKAN MORINGA OLEIFERA DAN CAMPURAN BIOKOAGULAN ALAMI
The wastewater treatment procedure for medium rank coal involves the use of coagulation, flocculation technology with bio coagulants to effectively lower the level of pollutants. This approach utilizes Moringa oleifera seed powder as the primary bio coagulant, along with papaya seeds (Carica papaya Linn) and (Ambon banana peel waste (Musa paradisiaca var) as a secondary bio coagulant, which is mixed with the primary bio coagulant. The objective of this study is to identify the properties and efficacy of bio coagulant substances derived from plants and garbage. Present in the ecosystem as a substitute for the utilization of substances like Alum (Aluminum Sulfate) that have detrimental effects on the environment. The research findings indicated that the most effective dosage for blending bio coagulants was 1 gram per liter, with a composition ratio of 2 parts main biocoagulant to 1 part supporting bio coagulant. This combination yielded optimal analysis results. Commercial Moringa Seed Powder was incorporated into Papaya Seeds using a bio coagulant particle size of 100 mesh. The mixture was vigorously stirred at a speed of 100 rpm for 30 seconds, followed by gradual stirring at 30 rpm for 10 minutes. Afterward, the mixture was left for 30 minutes to allow sedimentation. The water pollutant reduction analysis yielded the following results: decrease of turbidity and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) by 99.26% and 99.11%, a decrease of heavy metals Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn) by 98.71% and 99.88% respectively
