Background: Chronic hepatitis B is an infectious disease that can cause liver fibrosis. If not treated further, it will develop into cirrhosis and liver cancer. Therefore, an examination is needed to determine the severity of chronic liver disease. Various examination methods have been carried out to determine the level of liver fibrosis, but some areas have limited examination tools, especially remote areas. Platelet levels can be considered as one of the parameters to predict the degree of liver fibrosis. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between thrombocytopenia and the degree of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital, Palembang.
