HUBUNGAN ADIKSI INTERNET DENGAN INDEKS PRESTASI KUMULATIF MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
The Internet is a technology that is widely used by all people in the world. The number of internet users in Indonesia reached 221,563,479 as of early 2024. The internet has many impacts, both positive and negative, one of which is internet addiction. Among teenagers, internet addiction is a phenomenon that is happening a lot, especially among medical students at Sriwijaya University because the internet plays a very important role in the learning process. This can certainly interfere with the learning process and their achievements or grades. The study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional study design and consecutive sampling technique. Data was collected from respondents who filled out the KDAI questionnaires on the Google form with 369 respondents that met the inclusion criteria. After that, the data was edited in Microsoft Excel and analyzed in SPSS. Of the 369 respondents, two respondents (0.5%) had a satisfactory GPA and experienced internet addiction, 11 respondents (3.0%) had a very satisfactory GPA and experienced internet addiction, and 99 respondents (29.8%) had a GPA with praise and experienced internet addiction. Analysis was carried out with Spearman correlation test, obtained p-value = 0.247 with rho = -0.060. There is no significant relation between internet addiction and the grade point average (GPA) of Medical Students at Sriwijaya University.
