PREVALENSI DAN KARAKTERISTIK IBU HAMIL DENGAN SIFILIS DI RUMAH SAKIT UMUM PUSAT DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE 2020-2024
Background: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by Treponema pallidum. There is still little data on the prevalence of pregnant women with syphilis in Palembang. This study aims to determine the prevalence, sociodemographic, and clinical characteristics of pregnant women with syphilis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central General Hospital Palembang for the period 2020-2024. Method: The research method used was descriptive observational with total sampling using secondary data taken from medical records of pregnant women with syphilis. There were 20 medical record data that met the inclusion criteria in the Medical Records section of the Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Central General Hospital during January 1st 2020-July 31st 2024 and processed using SPSS 27.0 for Mac. Result: The prevalence of pregnant women with syphilis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital for the 2020-2024 period was 0.89% with characteristics such as the majority aged 25-34 years (60%), married (95%), private workers (50%), partner of private workers (60%), high school (70%), trimester 3 (90%), pregnancy interval ≥2 years (55%), primipara (45%), never had abortion (75%), menarche at the age of 8-13 years (80%), never had STI (75%), partner had syphilis (60%), VDRL test was positive (65%), primary stage (75%), received benzathine penicillin G treatment of 2.4 million units (65%), gave birth by cesarean delivery (80%), infant birth weight 2500-4000 grams (75%), and baby didn't have congenital syphilis (60%). Conclusion: The prevalence of pregnant women with syphilis at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital for the period 2020-2024 is 0.38% and data was obtained regarding sociodemographic and clinical characteristics
