Plastic is a global problem due to world plastic production reaching 350 million tons per year. This condition pollutes the environment and causes world pollution where 79% of plastic pollution accumulates in landfills or is scattered throughout the environment, 12% is burned, and only 9% is recycled. This research uses qualitative research with a descriptive analytical research design. The informants in this research consisted of 2 key informants and 8 main informants. The key informant consisted of the Head of the RT, and the main informant consisted of the community around the Musi riverbank. Data collection was carried out by means of in-depth interviews, observation, documentation and document review. The research results show that the Musi River in the waters of the Musi 2 Bridge and Musi 4 Bridge still produces a lot of plastic waste and household waste from the community's daily use. The use of plastic in the Musi River water area is still relatively high, with only two out of eight residents limiting their use of plastic. In the waters of the Musi 2 Bridge and Musi 4 Bridge, there are 4 types/forms identified, namely fragments with 9 particles, fiber with 5 particles, pellet with 2 particles and film with 1 particle. The results of identifying the largest estimated size of microplastics in the waters of the Musi 2 Bridge and Musi 4 Bridge, namely the largest estimated size of 2624.85 µm is found at the Musi 2 bridge point, while the smallest microplastic size estimate is at the Musi 4 bridge point with an estimated size of 103. 10 µm. Meanwhile, the results of identification with the color of microplastics found 5 colors in the waters, including: 59% brown, namely 10 particles, 12% black, namely 2 particles, 17% white, namely 3 particles, 6% pink, namely 1 particle, and 6% green, namely 1 particle. Microplastics are known to originate from the use of plastic by residential communities around the Musi Palembang Watershed (DAS).
