Palem Raya Village and Sungai Rambutan Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency are the villages targeted in the Forest and Land Fire Control (Dalkarhutla) program. However, these two villages continue to experience forest and land fires every year. The aim of this research is to analyze community knowledge and participation in controlling forest and land fires. This research uses a qualitative research design through a descriptive approach, determining informants is carried out using the method purposive sampling totaling 13 people consisting of 8 main informants and 5 informants and to collect data for this research using in-depth interview methods, observation and document review. The research results showed that there is already a program to control forest and land fires, namely activities to prevent, control and deal with post-forest and land fires. The majority of people already know about controlling forest and land fires. The majority of people have also participated in forest and land fire control activities, namely preventing and extinguishing forest and land fires, but there has been no community participation in post-forest and land fire management activities. The community only participates in implementing activities, so there is no community participation in planning and evaluating forest and land fire control activities. Obstacles in controlling forest and land fires are lack of public awareness, insufficient budget and resources, dry season with high heat intensity, insufficient water sources, difficulty in accessing forest and land fire locations, inadequate facilities and infrastructure and The owner of the burned land is unknown. The conclusion of this research is that the majority of people already know and participate in controlling forest and land fires.
