This thesis is entitled social interaction between fellow boarding house students in Bukit Lama Village, Palembang City. The problems studied are related to the socio-economic background of boarding house students and the interactions that arise among boarding house students. The purpose of This research is to determine the socio-economic background and interactions that arise between fellow boarding students. This research is descriptive qualitative research. This research involved 16 informants, namely 5 people from Lampung, 2 people come from Tanggerang, 2 people come from Lahat, 2 people come from Lubuk Linggau, 1 person comes from Pagar Alam, 1 person comes from West Java, 1 person comes from South Sulawasi and 1 person comes from East Oku, who is a student which derive from different areas so that social interaction is possible. Data collection techniques were carried out using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The collected data is then processed and analyzed. Data analysis in this research consists of three stages, namely: 1). Data reduction stage, 2). Data presentation stage, 3). Verification or conclusion and triangulation stages. The results of this research show that boarding house students in Bukit Lama Village, Palembang City come from different socio-economic backgrounds, which can be seen from their daily lifestyle. However, this does not prevent mingling between fellow boarding students. The form of interaction developed in the boarding house environment is in the form of cooperation and accommodation. There are good social relations between fellow students, there is a sense of empathy and sympathy between fellow boarding students.
