Background. Stroke is a brain disorder that lasts for more than 24 hours and can even lead to death, with no clear cause other than a disruption in blood flow to the brain. Stroke has several risk factors, including age, gender, family history, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking, dyslipidemia, and physical inactivity. Epidemiologically, the profile of stroke risk factors can vary based on geographic location, so it is important to understand the distribution within the community. According to health profile data, the Makrayu Community Health Center recorded the highest incidence of stroke in 2023, with 223 patients. This number is relatively high compared to other community health centers in Palembang City, making it necessary to conduct research to understand the risk factors for stroke at the Makrayu Community Health Center. Methods. This study uses a descriptive method with a cross-sectional study design. The data used is primary data collected through direct interviews with a questionnaire. The researcher employed a consecutive sampling method on the stroke patient population at the Makrayu Community Health Center in 2023. Results. The sample size in this study was 23 respondents. The majority of respondents had a latest level of education of elementary school (39.1%) and were not employed (52.2%). The risk factor profile of the respondents showed that most were elderly (78.3%), female (56.5%), had no family history of stroke (62.5%), had hypertension (95.7%), did not have a history of diabetes mellitus (17.4%), did not have a history of heart disease (87.0%), had a history of dyslipidemia (52.2%), did not smoke (65.2%), were not obese (78.3%), and engaged in physical activity (52.2%). Conclusion. The most common risk factor at Makrayu Community Health Center in 2023 was hypertension, followed by age and a history of dyslipidemia. It is recommended to prevent stroke by avoiding and controlling these risk factors. Keywords. Risk factors, Stroke.
