PT Putra Muba Coal is a coal mining company that utilizes a Barge Loading Conveyor (BLC) system for loading coal from the stockpile to the barge. In March 2025, the company set a production target of 108,500 tons/month or a daily target of 3,500 tons. However, actual production has not consistently met this target. This study aims to analyze BLC productivity, identify key obstacles hindering smooth production, and provide effective production optimization recommendations. The methods used include the collection of primary and secondary data, calculation of theoretical and actual productivity, and evaluation of technical and operational barriers. The results show that the average theoretical productivity of the BLC is 1.464,853 tons/hour, while the actual productivity reached only 87.134,30 tons/month, with a daily average of 2.810,78 tons/day. This represents 80.31% achievement of the monthly production target. Identified obstacles include damage to the feeding unit, the absence of sizing equipment (such as crushers and breakers), material build-up in the chute, and limitations in the design of the radial long conveyor (RLC) to accommodate river tide fluctuations. Optimization efforts were carried out by increasing work time efficiency from 33,7% to 58% through improvements in operational systems, rescheduling of maintenance, and the provision of supporting equipment. As a result, monthly production increased from 87.134,30 tons to 150.202,08 tons. This research provides recommendations for improving BLC performance and can serve as a reference for developing more efficient coal loading systems.
