Introduction: Acute pain is a major nursing problem that requires comprehensive intervention. Pain in pulmonary TB usually appears in the chest area caused by inflammation of M. Tuberculosis bacteria and suppression of the musculoskeletal system. One of the nonpharmacological therapies that can be given is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. Objective To provide an overview of nursing care and the application of progressive muscle relaxation to reduce pain levels in patients. Method: Case study with 3 pulmonary TB patients who were treated at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central General Hospital (RSUP) of Palembang. Result: Nursing care carried out on the three patients with pulmonary TB showed that there were six actual diagnoses with nursing problems, namely ineffective breathing patterns, acute pain, nutritional deficits, nausea, sleep pattern disorders, and knowledge deficits. Discussion: The main interventions provided were airway management, paint management, nutrition management, nausea management, sleep support and health education. Implementation was a dependent, independent, and interdependent action. A progressive muscle relaxation therapy application was given for 15-30 minutes. Relaxation therapy triggered the release of endorphins acting as natural analgesics. Conclusion: After being given nursing care for 3 days, 5 nursing problems were partially resolved and 2 resolved. In all three cases, there was a decrease in pain levels with the results of the assessment from moderate to mild pain. The nursing care, pain management and the application of progression muscle relaxation had an effect on reducing ping levels in the three patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central General Hospital (RSUP) of Palembang.
