The background to this research problem is the development of children's speech abilities which have not yet developed according to their age stage. This is known from the inaccuracy of the words used by children which makes it difficult for other people to understand what they say. The location of this research is in Meranjat Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research aims to determine the role of parents in stimulating the language development of children who experience speech delays. It is hoped that the benefits of this research will increase insight and knowledge regarding the role of parents in stimulating the language development of children who experience speech delays. The research subjects consisted of 4 people. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that parents are the main role that can influence children's language development. The role of parents in providing emotional support is demonstrated by giving praise to their children. To encourage children's language development, parents provide books and introduce the names of objects around them. Apart from that, parents involve children in every daily activity. To monitor children's language and speech development, parents collaborate with health professionals and therapists. Keywords: Speech Delay, Children Aged 4-11 Years
