PT. Bukit Asam is a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) engaged in the coal mining industry, headquartered in Tanjung Enim District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province. Based on the Realignment of the Long-Term Plan (RJPP), PT Bukit Asam in 2023 targets coal production of 38.9 million tons by optimizing all mines that are currently operating as well as those planned to operate in 2023. In 2023, one of the largest mining licenses (IUP) planned for mining activities is the Banko Tengah Block B. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an analysis from a risk perspective for mining activities in this IUP area. This study aims to measure the impact of Risk Management implementation on coal mining results, explain the risk management analysis process conducted, and identify risk management patterns in the form of risk profiles and effective mitigation for Coal Mining in the Banko Tengah Block B Mining License Area (IUP), PT. Bukit Asam Tbk. In this thesis report, the results of the risk management analysis in mining are discussed, namely to measure the impact of risk management implementation, 15 key risk indicators were obtained based on 15 identified risk events (operational and social & environmental aspects). These indicators can serve as early warning signs in determining the success of risk management implementation in the Banko Tengah Block B mining site. Furthermore, a risk analysis has been conducted, and the categories and levels of risk have been determined. It was found that there are 3 risks with high-risk status and high level: the risk of work accidents at the mining site, the unavailability of land for mining, and illegal mining activities (PETI) in the IUP area. There is 1 risk with medium-risk category and moderate to high-risk level: the risk of poor mining contractor performance. Additionally, there are 6 risks with medium-risk category: the risk of coal production not meeting the plan, damaged production and supporting equipment, unavailable infrastructure, higher than planned frequency and intensity of rainfall, deviation from the mining plan, and demonstrations. There are also 5 risks with low-risk category and low level: environmental pollution, coal theft, security disturbances, coal dust, and non-compliance with good mining practices. The risk management pattern used involves effective mitigation, as outlined in the risk profile of Banko Tengah Block B PT Bukit Asam Tbk.
