Congenital hypothyroidism is a thyroid dysfunction present at birth, characterized by insufficient production of thyroid hormones. The primary therapy for congenital hypothyroidism is levothyroxine administration, which improves metabolism, supports growth, and facilitates catch-up growth in children. This study aims to analyze the profile of patients with congenital hypothyroidism treated at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. Using a crosssectional design, the study utilized secondary data from medical records, including 31 patients with congenital hypothyroidism. The results revealed that the majority of initial diagnoses were made at the age of >3 months to 1 year, comprising 15 patients (48.3%). Male patients were more prevalent, accounting for 18 cases (58.1%). 16 patients (51.6%) resided in urban areas. Regarding parental education, 18 patients (58.0%) had parents with a middle-level education. Based on maternal parity, 20 patients (64.5%) were born to multiparous mothers. A total of 27 mothers (87.1%) had no history of thyroid disease. Initial thyroidstimulating hormone (TSH) levels >20 mU/L were observed in 9 patients (29.0%) at diagnosis. The most common clinical symptom after three months of age was short stature/growth disorders, found in 11 patients (35.5%). Ten patients (32.3%) were diagnosed with Down syndrome. Following therapy, the majority of patients achieved normal stature 24 patients (77.4%), good nutritional status 25 patients (80.6%) and normal growth rates 27 patients (87.1%).
