ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA PASIEN KANKER SERVIKS DENGAN PEMBERIAN TERAPI SLOW STROKE BACK MASSAGE MENGGUNAKAN MINYAK ZAITUN TERHADAP MASALAH KEPERAWATAN NYERI KRONIS DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Cancer patients often suffer chronic pain that reduces quality of life and triggers psychological distress. Non-pharmacological therapies such as Slow Stroke Back Massage with olive oil can provide relaxation and reduce pain intensity. Objective: To describe nursing care for cervical cancer patients by providing slow stroke back massage therapy using olive oil for chronic pain nursing problems at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Central General Hospital of Palembang. Methods: This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach on three cervical cancer patients having chronic pain as a nursing problem. The case selection focused on the patients experiencing the most intense pain in the lumbar region. To assess the level of pain experienced, the Numeric Rating Scale was used. Results: The study showed an increase in comfort and relaxation effects in the patients, which was indicated by a decrease in pain levels from a scale of 6-7 to a scale of 1, after 3 days of Slow Stroke Back Massage therapy with olive oil for a duration of 10 minutes. Conclusion: Slow Stroke Back Massage therapy with olive oil is effective as a supportive therapy in reducing the pain in cervical cancer patients. This therapy is economical and efficient, can be applied in various settings, and does not cause adverse side effects for patients. Keywords: Cervical Cancer, Chronic Pain, Slow Stroke Back Massage.
