Menstrual hygiene management is an overall practice in maintaining the cleanliness of the reproductive organs during menstruation. Lack of knowledge about menstrual hygiene management can pose a risk of urinary tract infections to cervical cancer. Education with interactive media is expected to be better, interesting and easily accepted by the teenagers. This study aimed to find out the influence of health education using COMUGI media on adolescent’s knowledge of menstrual hygiene management. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The number of sample was 36 students taken from grades X and XI of SMAN 1 Indralaya who were selected by simple random sampling włuch was then divided into intervention groups (COMUGI) and control groups (leaflets). The research instrument was a questionnaire asking the students' knowledge of menstrual hygiene management. The results showed that the average knowledge score in the COMUGI group increased from 16.11 to 21.06 with the Paired T-Test; (p=0.000; α=0.05). In the leaflet group, the score increased from 14.39 to 17.60 with the Paired T-Test and the p=0.000. The results of the Independent T-Test test showed that there was a significant difference in influence between the two groups with a p-value of 0.041, showing that the COMUGI group obtained a higher increase in knowledge than those of the leaflet. Health education using the COMUGI media has proven to be more effective than using the leaflets in increasing the young women's knowledge about the menstrual hygiene management. The COMUGI media has an effect on improving adolescents' knowledge because it involves active participation so that learning becomes more interesting and makes it easier for the adolescents to receive the conveyed information.
