PENGARUH LEAFLET TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN PASIEN TENTANG PENCEGAHAN KEGAWATDARURATAN DIABETES MELITUS DI PUSKESMAS INDRALAYA
Diabetes mellitus emergencies are critical conditions related to acute complications of diabetes mellitus that are life-threatening risk and require immediate treatment. Prevention of diabetes mellitus emergencies can be done by increasing patient knowledge. This study aims to determine the effect of education using leaflet media on patient knowledge about diabetes mellitus emergencies. This study was a quantitative study with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The total of samples in study were 54 respondents using the Purposive Sampling selection technique. The instrument used in this study was a knowledge qustionnaire. The result of the statistical test using the Paired T-Test showed that the average value of respondents’ knowledge during the pre-test was 10.30 (SD = 2.2682) and the post-test was 12.61 (SD = 2.227) with an increase in the average score of 2.31 and a value of 0.000. The result of this study showed that there was a significant influence of leaflet media on respondents’ knowledge about preventing diabetes mellitus emergencies can be obtained through information sources in the form of leaflets. Therefore, an appropriate leaflet design is needed so that diabetes mellitus patient gain knowledge to recognize and avoid diabetes mellitus emergency conditions.
