AKTIVITAS ANTIBIOFILM PERMEN JELI BUAH NANAS DAN STEVIA TERHADAP BAKTERI STREPTOCOCCUS MUTANS
Background: Streptococcus mutans was the main bacterium involved in biofilm formation that causes dental caries. Pineapple had been proven to possess antibacterial activity against S. mutans, while stevia was a natural low-calorie sweetener that also exhibited antibacterial properties against S. mutans. The combination of both could be formulated into a jelly candy product. This study aimed to determine the antibiofilm activity of pineapple and stevia jelly candy against Streptococcus mutans. Method: This study used an in vitro laboratory experimental with a post-test only control group design. The antibiofilm activity of S. mutans was determined using microtiter plate method with four sample groups: pineapple and stevia jelly candy, pineapple jelly candy without stevia, stevia jelly candy without pineapple, and a negative control (jelly candy without pineapple and stevia). The Antibiofilm activity was determined by measuring the absorbance or optical density using a microplate reader at a wavelength of 492 nm. Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA test. Results: The One Way ANOVA test showed a significant difference in absorbance values among all sample groups (p
