PENGARUH TEGANGAN LISTRIK TERHADAP HASIL KOAGULASI PADA ALAT ELEKTROFORESIS KOLOID
Electrophoresis is a technique that can be used to determine the type of charge in a colloid. Colloidal particles when an electric current flows through them will move towards the electrode with the opposite charge. This research aims to determine the effect of the electric voltage on the coagulation results in a colloid electrophoresis device and to determine the optimum electric voltage. The samples in this study were milk, coconut milk, Fe(OH)3, and Al(OH)3. Each sample was tested at various electrical voltages, namely 10 V, 15 V, 20 V, 25 V, and 30 V with repetition three times. Each test was carried out for 15 minutes. The independent variable in this research is electric voltage, while the dependent variable is the sample deposition result. Based on the results data obtained, there is a significant but small influence between the electric voltage and the coagulation results, namely the higher the magnitude of the electric voltage, the greater the coagulation mass obtained. The results of the research showed that the electric voltage and milk and coconut milk samples contained colloidal particles clumping on the positive electrode (anode), this means that the colloidal particles were negatively charged. Meanwhile, in the Fe(OH)3 and Al(OH)3 samples there are colloidal particles clumping on the negative electrode (cathode), this means that the colloidal particles have a negative charge. From this test, the optimum voltage is obtained according to the capacity of the tool, namely 30 V. Keywords: Colloid, electrophoresis, voltage, effect.
