PENERAPAN TERAPI MEDIA PERMAINAN EDUKATIF UNTUK MENGURANGI KECEMASAN PADA ANAK SELAMA HOSPITALISASI DI RUANGAN LAKITAN 1.2 RSUP Dr. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Hospitalization is a process that requires a person, either intentionally or due to an urgent medical condition, to undergo hospital treatment for a certain period of time. Anxiety is confusion or worry about something that happens with an unclear cause and is associated with feelings of uncertainty and helplessness as a result of the assessment of an object. The therapy being able to reduce the anxiety of the children is the implementation of educational play media therapy, namely play therapy where children will be invited to play educatively so that their anxiety can be distracted by the educational play therapy. Objective: To implement and describe the implementation of nursing care in children with anxiety nursing problems by using picture play therapy to reduce anxiety of children during the hospitalization. Methods: The research method used a case study with a case approach to 3 patients of children in the school-age range (6-12 years) having anxiety nursing problems. Results: Nonpharmacological interventions were given in the form of educational play therapy to reduce anxiety levels for 15-20 minutes and it was found that there was a decrease in anxiety levels from moderate anxiety (score 3) to mild anxiety (score 1) in the three patients managed using the Face Anxiety Scale (FAS). Conclusions: Picture guessing educational play therapy is effective in lowering the anxiety levels of pediatric patients during the hospitalization.
