PEMETAAN SEBARAN DAN ANALISIS KESEHATAN MANGROVE DI MUARA SUNGAI MUSI SUMATERA SELATAN
This research aims to map the distribution and analyze the health condition of mangrove ecosystems in the Musi River Estuary, South Sumatra Province, using Sentinel-2A satellite imagery. The purposive sampling method was applied to determine sampling points representing various ecological zones. Field data consisted of tree density, trunk diameter, and canopy cover, while the satellite data were processed through atmospheric correction, supervised classification, and vegetation index analysis (NBR, GCI, SIPI, ARVI) to assess the greenness and vitality of mangrove vegetation. The results revealed that the mangrove ecosystem in the study area is dominated by Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, and Sonneratia caseolaris. Overall, the mangrove condition is classified as good to excellent, although certain zones show degradation due to human activities such as land conversion and logging. The use of Sentinel-2A imagery proved effective in monitoring mangrove ecosystems by providing comprehensive spatial information efficiently in both time and cost.
