The research problem discusses the role of women farmworkers in fulfilling the familyeconomy by looking at the lives of women farmworkers, the efforts of women farmworkers inmeeting family needs and the division of roles in the families of women farmworkers inSebarus Village, Balik Bukit District, West Lampung Regency. Using qualitative researchmethods with a descriptive approach with observational data collection methods, interviewsdetermined by puposive sampling and documentation. The research analyzed using Julia'srole theory. C. Mosse. The results showed that the reason for women becoming laborers wasbecause their husband's income was not enough, the working period of female farm workerswas erratic with working hours at 08:00-15:00 w18, the participation of women farmworkersin community activities such as celebrations, deaths and recitations. Efforts are made to meetthe needs of the family hy becoming freelance farm laborers who move from one land toanother with an income of Rp 600,000-Rp 700,000 per month. The obstacles faced are (1) thewages given are too small and not in accordance with the existing workload, (2) women havedual role, (3) reduced vocation as farm workers. The division of the role of women farmworkers in the family is 1) Decision Making and Management of the house and children. (2)financial processing and (3) socio-culhural management in community activities in thefamily). There needs to be balanced cooperation between husband and wife and also wagegiven to farm workers need to be increased by adjusting the rupiah exchange rate to theexisting basic needs price. For the government, there is a need for empowerment programto improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) especially for women who have loweducation. Keywords: Role, Women Farmworkers.
