Background: Infections in the intensive care unit (ICU) are one of the biggest challenges in healthcare, especially due to increasing antibiotic resistance. Understanding antibiogram and antibiotic sensitivity is very important to determine effective therapeutic strategies and prevent further resistance. This study aims to determine the antibiogram and antibiotic resistance of patients in the ICU room of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang for the period January-March 2024. Methods: This study is a descriptive retrospective observational study with a cross-sectional study design, analyzing medical record data of ICU patients who underwent microbiological culture during the study period. The data collection process used secondary data with the total sampling method from the medical record data of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang Hospital for the period January-March 2024. Results: There were 89 patients with positive bacterial culture results. 8 patient samples with Gram positive bacteria namely Staphylococcus haemolyticus 3(3%), Staphylococcus aureus 4(4%) and Streptococcus mitis1 (1%). The 81 patient samples with gram-negative bacteria were 11(14%) Acinetobacter baumannii, 1(1%) Citrobacter freundii, 13(14%) Escherichia coli, 6(7%) Enterobacter cloacae, 1(1%) Elizabethkingia meningoseptica, 39(43%) Klebsiella pneumoniae, 8(9%) Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 1(1%) Stenotrophomonas maltophilia and 1(1%) Serratia marcescens. The antibiotics amikacin and meropenem showed relatively high sensitivity to Gram-negative bacteria. Conclusion: The antibiogram in the ICU of RSMH is dominated by Gram-negative bacteria with a high level of antibiotic resistance. These results confirm the importance of antibiogram and antibiotic resistance maps to support more effective infection management in the ICU. Keywords: Antibiogram, antibiotic sensitivity, ICU, microbiology culture, antibiotic resistance.
