One of the obstacles in tilapia cultivation is the Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria that causes Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) disease. This disease can be overcome by using natural ingredients. One of the natural ingredients that can be used to treat bacterial diseases in fish is the stem of brotowali (Tinospora crispa L.). The use of the stem of brotowali has been proven in vitro to inhibit Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria at a dose of 1,250 mg L⁻¹. However, there has been no further research on treatment using the stem of brotowali for in vivo testing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding the stem extract of brotowali (Tinospora crispa L.) on Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) disease in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). This study used a completely randomized design consisting of a control and three treatments with 3 replications each. The treatment given was the treatment of tilapia infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria by soaking in the stem extract of brotowali. The treatments were K- (no treatment), K+ (oxytetracycline 50 mg L⁻¹), P1 (concentration 625 mg L⁻¹), P2 (concentration 1,250 mg L⁻¹) and P3 (concentration 2,500 mg L⁻¹). The fish used were tilapia measuring 10 ± 1 cm. The research parameters measured were survival, percentage of recovered fish, hematopathology tests (total erythrocyte, leukocyte, hematocrit, and hemoglobin tests), growth in length and absolute weight, and water quality. The results of this study indicate that the use of brotowali stem extract in the treatment of tilapia infected with Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria, with the highest dose of brotowali stem extract, namely 2,500 mg L⁻¹, gave the best result for treating tilapia infected with Motile Aeromonas Septicemia, with a survival rate of 100%, a cure rate of 100%, an absolute weight growth of 10.91 g, an absolute length of 4.81 cm, and hematopathology and water quality values that were within the normal range.
