PENGGUNAAN JENIS PAKAN KERING YANG BERBEDA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PERFORMA PERTUMBUHAN IKAN GABUS (Channa striata)
Striped snakehead fish, is classified as carnivores, requires animal-source feed. Earthworms, rice snails and chicken intestines are the animal ingredients that can be used as striped snakehead fish feed, both in fresh and dried form. Dry feed can be stored longer than wet feed. This research aimed to determine the best type of dry feed between earthworms, rice snails, and chicken intestines to increase the growth performance and efficiency of striped snakehead feed. The fish reared at the Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. Proximate analysis of feed was carried out at the Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, IPB University. This research was conducted on June-August 2023. This research used a completely randomized design which consists of four treatments and three replications. The treatments given was feeding the striped snakehead fish by the different types of dry feed, included commercial feed (P0), earthworm (P1), rice snail (P2), and chicken intestine (P3). The results showed that dry rice snail (P2) was the best treatment which resulted in absolute growth (weight and length) of 3.05 g and 1.52 cm respectively, protein efficiency ratio of 1.49, feed efficiency of 70.50% and survival was 98.33%. The measured water quality data consist of temperature 26.1-28.7°C, pH 6.3-7.2, dissolved oxygen 3.33-4.46 mg L-1 , and ammonia 0.029- 0.064 mg L-1 . Keywords: chicken intestine, commercial feed, earthworm, rice snail, striped snakehead fish
