KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA SMP MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PEMODELAN MATEMATIKA PADA MATERI TEOREMA PYTHAGORAS
This research aims to determine the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students through learning mathematical modeling on the Pythagorean Theorem material. The type of research used is descriptive research. This research was conducted at IBA Palembang Middle School with 15 students as subjects and categorized into groups of high, medium and low ability students. Overall, the highest percentage of indicators appearing was the indicator connecting real objects, pictures and diagrams to mathematical ideas, namely 56.67. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage of indicators appearing was the indicator explaining ideas, situations and mathematical relationships verbally and in writing with real objects, graphs and algebra, namely 31.67. The research results show that students who have mathematical communication skills in the high criteria level category are 0%. Students' mathematical communication abilities in the medium criteria were 93.33%. Students' mathematical communication abilities in the low criteria level category were 6.67%.
