Industrial performance determines the industry’s product competitiveness. Efficient industrial performance can enhances the competitiveness of its output, allowing it to excel in international markets. Therefore, this study aims to examine the efficiency and competitiveness of Indonesia’s electrical and other electronic cable industry (ISIC 2732) in five major export destinations: the United States, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. Furthermore, this study elaborates on how industrial performance affects competitiveness. The study employs secondary data from 2003 to 2022 and applies the simple liniar regression method. The results indicate that the efficiency level of Indonesia’s electrical and other electronic cable industry remains low. Competitiveness is comparatively highest in Japan, the United States, and Singapore, but considerably lower in Thailand and the Philippines. The relationship between efficiency and competitiveness is found to be positive and statistically significant; however, efficiency accounts for only 16 percent of the variation in competitiveness. The findings underscore the pivotal role of the government in promoting the development of the electrical and other electronic cable industry, both domestically and internationally.
