EFEKTIVITAS KOMBINASI FILTER CANGKANG KERANG DARAH (ANADARA GRANOSA) DAN ZEOLIT TERHADAP KUALITAS AIR PADA PEMELIHARAAN IKAN TAMBAKAN (HELOSTOMA TEMMINCKII)
Optimal water quality is a key factor in successful kissing gourami farming, as poor water conditions can affect fish health and growth, leading to mortality. Efforts that can be made to prevent water quality problems include using Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) for fish farming. One filtration combination that can be used in RAS is zeolite and blood cockles (Anadara granosa). This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and best composition of the zeolite and blood cockles filter combination in maintaining water quality at the optimal range for the growth and survival of kissing gourami. The research was conducted at the Aquaculture and Experimental Pond Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya in February – March 2025. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used for the experimental setup, comprising five treatments with three replications: P1: 100% zeolite filter, P2: 100% blood cockles filter, P3: 25% zeolite + 75% blood cockles filter, P4: 50% zeolite + 50% blood cockles filter, P5: 75% zeolite + 25% blood cockles filter. The results indicated that P4 (50% zeolite + 50% blood cockles filter) was the most effective combination for maintaining water quality on day 30, achieving the following parameters: pH 8.03, ammonia 0.053 mg L-1, TDS 267.67 mg L-1, alkalinity 146.67 mg L-1, turbidity 0.44 NTU, absolute weight and length growth respectively 0.74 g and 1.19 cm, feed efficiency 28.62%, and survival rate 100%.
