EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN TEBU (Saccharum officinarum L.) PADA LAHAN PASANG SURUT DI PT. PRATAMA NUSANTARA SAKTI
Sugarcane (Saccharum Officinarum L.) has long been one of the known and cultivated crops in Indonesia, sugarcane is also an important commodity to be used as the main ingredient for sugar production. This study aims to assess the quality and characteristics of the land, evaluate the actual and potential land suitability class, and determine the available nutrient content that is suitable for sugarcane plants. This research was conducted from December 2023 to January 2024 at PT Pratama Nusantra Sakti (OKI). The method used in this study is a motode with direct observation to the field with a map scale of 1:15,000. This research area has an area of ± 10 ha in each block. The determination of the sample location was carried out using the grid method. There are 10 sample points in each block, each sample point represents ± 1 ha. Research data was taken through observation in the field, sampling, and analysis in the laboratory. Through this study, the results were obtained that there are several qualities and characteristics of land that are included in the very appropriate class (S1) for the growth of sugarcane plants. The actual land suitability assessment on new land has a suitability class of N-xs, S3-oa, nr, with sulfidic hazard limiting factors, drainage, soil pH. In the assessment of actual land suitability in fertile land, there is a suitability class of S3-nr, with soil pH limiting factors. Meanwhile, dwarf land has a suitability class of S3-oa, nr, na, fh, with limiting factors of drainage, soil pH, P2O5, and flood hazard. Through certain improvement efforts, land suitability has the potential to increase to S1 class. Through improvement efforts such as water system regulation, liming and fertilizer application so that the growth of sugarcane plants is optimal.
