This research aims to develop a product, namely interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 in writing short stories for grade IX students of SMP Negeri 34 Palembang. This research uses the research and development method (Research and Development) with the combined development model of Borg & Gall with Alessi & Trollip which was modified into five stages, namely searching and collecting data by conducting needs analysis in the form of questionnaires and interviews, planning with the creation of flowchart and storyboard, developing the initial product form, initial field trials with three validators, and product revisions. The results of the study indicate that teachers and students need and are in dire need of interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 in writing short stories. The product was declared very feasible and valid based on the results of validation by media experts with a total score of 45 out of 52 and a percentage of 88.46%, validation by language experts with a total score of 51 out of 52 and a percentage of 98%, and validation by material experts with a score of 56 out of 60 and a percentage of 93.33%. This shows that interactive learning media based on Articulate Storyline 3 effective and suitable for use as an alternative media in learning to write short stories for class IX students of SMP Negeri 34 Palembang.
