The UN Commission on the Status of Women has a leading role in fighting for gender equality and women's empowerment. Iran is one of the members of the UN commission. In September 2022, there was a case of the death of a woman named Masha Amini who was suspected of experiencing violence by Iran's moral police. This then refers to Iran's exclusion from membership in the Commission on the Status of Women. This research aims to explain the dynamics that occurred in Iran's expulsion from the UN Commission on the Status of Women. In its study, this research uses group dynamics theory, which refers to group processes and group climate influencing interactions between group members and the final results achieved by the group. The research method used is a qualitative approach with library study data collection techniques.The research results show that the dynamics of Iran's expulsion from the UN Commission on the Status of Women refer to group dynamics theory, which can be grouped into 4 phases, namely foming, storming, norming and performing. At the forming stage, the initial problem was the case of the death of Masha Amini, who died after being arrested by the Iranian morality police on charges of wearing immodest clothing. This case succeeded in attracting world attention, presenting the group's attitude which questioned Iran's position as a member of the commission which is supposed to uphold women's rights. In this case, the United States began to show its opposition to Iran's actions. At the Storming stage, there is a perception about Iran's capabilities as a member. The United States in this case persuaded other members to oppose Iran's actions. The United States' form of disagreement was presented in the form of a resolution on Iran's expulsion from the Commission, which was then officially adopted by the UN Economic and Social Council. In the norming stage, it covers the decision making process. In the process there was a debate between parties who agreed and did not approve the resolution on Iran's exclusion from the UN Commission on the Status of Women. The United States was among the vocal parties in favor of the resolution. On the other hand, Russia and China, as parties that tend to oppose, at the performing stage, express the final decision. The final results stated that with a majority vote, Iran was officially expelled from the UN Commission on the Status of Women for the remainder of its four-year term which ends in 2026. So it can be concluded that the dynamics of Iran's expulsion from the UN Commission on the Status of Women can be classified into four phases, namely Forming, Storming , Norming and Performing.
