The lack of written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) regarding horse riding procedures and correct procedures for interacting with horses is one of the things that is still found in horse facilities in Palembang City. Apart from that, poor conditions of the equestrian arena, such as the surface of the field having holes, unevenness, etc, can have an impact on incidents and injuries that occur during equestrian sports. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze the application of safety concepts in horse riding activities for riders in Palembang City horse facilities. This research was conducted qualitatively using the case study research method. The research data collection methods used were: in-depth interviews, direct observation and documentation review. The total informants in this study were 27 people. The results of the research show that the four stables still do not provide safety guidelines and warning boards around the cages or fields. There are still stables whose managers do not provide routine vaccinations to their horses. Then, there are still stables that do not have equestrian fields whose sizes do not meet standards and there are also stables whose cage fences are in quite a damaged condition (holes and loose). Furthermore, there was one stable where the condition of the cage was quite dirty, causing an unpleasant odor and there was a puddle of water in the cage. Therefore, it is hoped that the management of each stable will always pay attention to the condition of the facilities and infrastructure, whether they do not yet exist, are no longer suitable for use or are unsafe for both horses and visitors. Apart from that, equestrian facility managers must also always provide maximum care for horses.
