PERANCANGAN SISTEM PENEMPATAN SENSOR NODE MENGGUNAKAN MULTILATERASI BERBASIS WIRELESS FIDELITY PADA APLIKASI WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK
The demand for accurate positioning systems is increasing with the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) and location-based applications. GPS is limited in indoor environments, making Wi-Fi-based multilateration with Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) a suitable alternative. This study designs a sensor node placement system using ESP32 as a master node and six slave nodes with ESP-NOW communication, Free Space Path Loss (FSPL) calculation, moving average filtering, and multilateration visualization through MATLAB and a web server. Experiments were conducted indoors with linear, diagonal, and random node placements. Results show that multilateration provides higher accuracy than trilateration, achieving an average Mean Squared Error (MSE) of less than 1 meter in most scenarios. ESP-NOW communication latency ranged from 2–299 ms with an average of 29 ms. Random placement yielded lower errors 0.19–0.62 m compared to linear and diagonal placements 5.03–7.81 m, proving the effectiveness of the proposed system in improving positioning accuracy in WSN.
