DOMESTIKASI IKAN SEPAT RAWA (Trichopodus trichopterus, PALLAS 1770) DALAM GALON DENGAN PADAT TEBAR BERBEDA
Three spot gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus) in a native freshwater fish of Indonesia that has a potential to be developed as a aquaculture fish. This study aimed to determine the best stocking density for the survival and growth of T. trichopterus which is domesticated in gallon media. The research was conducted at the Batanghari Sembilan Community Hatchery, Indralaya, the Basic Fisheries Laboratory and the Aquaculture Laboratory of the Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya on April-May 2025. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of five treatments and three replications. The treatment in this research was different stocking density, namely 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 fish per 10 L of water in a gallon. The experimental fish had an initial body length of 6-8 cm and a weight growth of 3-8 g. Fish are reared for 30 days, fed commercial feed with 39-41% protein. Feeding three times a day, namely in the morning, afternoon, and evening, at satiation. The research showed that stocking density had a significant effect (P≤0.05) on absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, specific growth rate, and feed efficiency. The best treatment is 5 fish per gallon with absolute growth of weight and length 2.70±0.04 g and 1.15±0.05 cm, specific growth rate of 1.21±0.13 %, and feed efficiency of 69.59±0.05 %. This study is expected to serve as a reference for further research.
